Ceramic Wishes: A Tanabata Pottery Experience at Mitsukoshi BGC

In celebration of Mitsukoshi BGC’s 3rd Anniversary and the 70th Anniversary of Japan–Philippines Friendship, join us for Ceramic Wishes: A Tanabata Pottery Experience. Inspired by the beloved Japanese Star Festival, this hands-on workshop invites you to create your own ceramic keepsake while reflecting on wishes, dreams, and the enduring friendship between our country and Japan. Whether you’re a first-time maker or a pottery enthusiast, celebrate culture, creativity, and connection through this meaningful artistic experience. All workshops and activities open for all ages!

Activities: 

  • Ceramic Decal Art Workshop
    • From stars and lanterns to suns and woven patterns, personalize your own ceramic piece using vibrant decals inspired by Tanabata wishes and iconic Japanese and Filipino symbols
    • 11:00am to 1:00pm | 3:00pm to 5:00pm | 6:30pm to 8:30pm

  • Pottery Crayons Workshop
    • Draw cute designs on your pottery using special ceramic crayons. Mix playful Japanese motifs with Filipino designs to create a unique piece that reflects friendship and fun.

  • Pottery Wheel Experience (No registration required. Open for walk-in visitors)
    • Experience shaping a cup or bowl at our regular wheel or make Tiny Pots in our mini wheel
    • Activity is limited to 15 minutes only per person on a first come, first served basis. 
    • Firing and glazing of works are optional. Delivery fees will apply for fired works. 
    • Registration for Pottery Wheel Experience starts at 10:30AM at Mitsukoshi 2nd Floor, beside %Arabica
